Random Thoughts
Tuesday, July 14, 2009  @  11:33 AM by Joni Parsley

If I were really giving you an honest look into my journal, there would be a random thought here and there. It may not be too “spiritual” but not everything has to be. So, I thought you might enjoy my take on everyday life – strange as it may be!

I wish my computer worked properly or I knew Bill Gates personally

Okay, I wish if I did know Bill Gates that he could endow our prep school, college, and anything else that was needed – I can be shameless

I wish chocolate was one of the four major food groups and had 0 calories and fat grams

Instead, I wish celery had the same fat grams as a Big Mac

Why do we have to wait to get to heaven for our glorified bodies? I’d rather get it on earth since I will not care if I’m fat in heaven – I’ll just be happy to be there

Is there a reason most news anchors have bad hair? Is it part of the job requirement?

Wouldn’t the world be a happier place if we wore our pajamas all day – who doesn’t love flannel?

With that, why do we torture ourselves wearing shoes that are death traps?

Sometimes, I wish I was Amish and enjoying the simple life except… I do need my hair dryer.

My son is right – I do look mean and scary without makeup so the Amish thing really won’t work after all.

Honestly, I wish life was more like the “Jetson’s” (especially the conveyor belt that got them ready every day)

I wish reality shows had never been invented – I don’t want to watch anyone eat a bug, date a less-than-perfect stranger, or be the next Mrs. 80’s hair band vixen – what a sad commentary on society

Okay, I admit I watched “American Idol” and “Jon and Kate plus Eight” (when it was cute) – hmm...sad is right.

Could men think more like women and women more like men? Think about it…

Could people be more like dogs? Think even more about it…

I think Target was created by God…He saw that it was good

I think my husband wishes Target was never created…I tell him God is in the aisles

Since that rarely works, I tell him I minister there – it’s my mission field

Okay, I have bought a lot of useless stuff there – how many containers does one family need?

Politicians annoy me…are they really public servants?

I leave notes on cars that park in handicapped parking places with no sticker – the fine should carry mandatory community service with people that do need them

Children may need to come with an instructional manual but teenagers need to come with a muzzle

I still need Bill Gates to fix my computer

I love the smell of coffee but wish I liked the taste…I just want to go to Starbucks and order a grande mocha something with a shot of whatever and some steamed milk with whipped cream and sprinkles – just ‘cause it sounds cool

If I owned a business I would want a children’s bookstore like the one in the movie “You’ve Got Mail”

The bigger the boy, the bigger the toy (garages everywhere are proof)

Cell phones – a blessing and a curse

Texting…are some of the symbols Japanese?

Twittering, tweeting…what?

Does anyone still write letters? Getting a love text or tweet isn’t very romantic and you can’t save it

I embarrass my children – it’s come to that…often I go out of my way to do so

Husbands should have a label – some assembly required

You know you’ve reached middle-age when the first word you say, when you get up, is “ouch”

People that need to “find themselves” don’t know where to look

I was a Girl Scout drop-out...I was just in it for the cookies

*Ahh life, so interesting to observe. I’d love to hear your comments and thoughts as well. Please feel free to share (maybe next week, we’ll get serious again!) By the way, I still need Bill Gates to fix my computer!
